Student organizations, each unique in their own way, offer St. Philip’s College students a wide selection of personal interests and activities. Student organizations offer activities that are beneficial to the growth of St. Philip’s College students.

Chartered Student Organizations

Chartered Student Organizations are organizations that are established by a College Office or Department to support the ongoing interests of St. Philip’s College. Membership is limited to students who have displayed a level of success as a student and who personify the character and integrity of St. Philip’s College.

Because of their affiliation to the college, Chartered Student Organizations are allowed:

  • Use of the SPC Logo on printed materials and correspondence
  • Special Renewal and Re-application Processes
  • Resources and privileges of the sponsoring Office/Department
Collegiate 100

Description:

Collegiate 100 is a chartered support organization for the 100 Black Men of San Antonio in its efforts to nurture and enhance the growth and development of young men and women of color.

Description:

FULLC is a chartered organization that celebrates the rich history/culture/contributions of Latinos and hones the leadership skills of its members. All students are invited to join.

Phi Theta Kappa - Psi Kappa Chapter

Description:

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is a chartered organization of SPC. PTK is recognized as the official honor society for two-year colleges by the American Association of Community Colleges. Students are invited to join.

Student Chapter National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)

Description:

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) supports our Construction Technology program at St. Philip's Southwest Campus. We are a community-service driven organization, where our students apply their classroom learned knowledge and skill-sets to help improve our local communities.

St. Philip's College students enrolled in Construction programs are learning skills to prepare for the exciting opportunities within the building industry. NAHB’s Student Chapter program members are dedicated to enriching students’ educational experiences, and conduct hands-on experience to the real world of the building industry through membership, educational programming, local volunteer community services and building industry networking opportunities. Members learn skills in construction, electrical, welding, plumbing, and more. 

The NAHB Student Chapter also has the opportunity to participate yearly in the NAHB Student Competition. This competition is a real-world construction management and planning contest for our college students. This national competition supports two and four-year college/university levels. The competition is an experience shared at the International Builders’ Show.

Description:

The SPC Student Government Association (SGA) is a chartered organization that involves all students.

SGA is a group of student leaders, elected by the students, who represent the voice and interests of our students and their experiences at SPC.

All students are members of SGA but are encouraged to get involved and be active with the organization.

CHAT is a student organization that has students involved in the Culinary, Hospitality, and Tourism field of study. CHAT offers opportunities for students to be involved on campus.

Engineering World Health (EWH)

Description:

Engineering World Health's St. Philip’s College’s Chapter mobilizes our SPC students to engage in activities that support the national organization, EWH, and other chapters around the world to support our core mission of empowering the biomedical engineering community to improve global health. This chapter will engage with healthcare challenges and medical technology issues common in the developing world and work on projects that have both global and local impacts.
